this game takes heavy inspiration from Disco Elysium's dialogue system (hard recommend! i always thought the system regarding the skills was absolutely genius, easily my favorite aspect of the game). other inspirations include Yume Nikki and 17776.
the cognitions, as well as being inspired by Disco Elysium's skills, are inspired by the Enneagram model. Gut aligns with the anger triad, Mind aligns with fear, and Heart aligns with shame.
